Within Zilker Park's 358 acres lies one of the crown jewels of Austin - Barton Springs Pool. The pool itself measures three acres in size, and is fed from underground springs with an average temperature of 68-70 degrees, ideal for year-round swimming. Over the years, Barton Springs Pool has drawn people from all walks of life, from legislators who have concocted state laws there to free-spirited, topless sunbathers who turned heads in the 1970s. Robert Redford learned to swim at the pool when he was five years old while visiting family in Austin. Today, Barton Springs still attracts a diverse crowd of people and has seen record setting numbers of visitors nearing 800,000 in recent years.

A once sleepy street on the edge of the city, now one of the chillest and eclectic entertainment districts in town. The old bungalow homes have all been converted into unique bars with their own cool vibes. Zilker Botanical Garden — located on 26 acres nestled within Zilker Metropolitan Park in the heart of downtown Austin, Texas, Zilker Botanical Garden is often called “the jewel in the heart of Austin”. Theme gardens such as the Taniguchi Japanese Garden, Riparian Streambed, and Rose Garden are interconnected with streams, waterfalls and Koi-filled ponds, while the Hartman Prehistoric Garden recreates a Cretaceous habitat filled with plants from the time of the dinosaurs. Featuring heritage live oaks set into a hillside, the Garden offers a lush, shady respite perfect for an urban get-away stroll.

A beautiful city park not far from the Adina. Paralleling Shoal Creek west of downtown, the park is frequented by University of Texas at Austin students and formerly by disc golf enthusiasts. Every spring it plays host to the annual Eeyore's Birthday Party celebration, a favorite event for Austin's hippie subculture dating back to the 1960s.
